Why Am I Getting So Many Migraines Lately

What Triggers Your Headaches

WHY I’VE BEEN SO QUIET LATELY… (Life Update)

Migraines are often brought on by environmental, hormonal or other factors. What sets off a migraine in one person may not do so in another. But here are some common triggers:

What you eat. Many foods and beverages may trigger migraines, from aged cheeses to alcohol to soy sauce. Skipping meals or becoming dehydrated can also bring on migraines.

Your hormones. Women may get migraines based on their menstrual cycles, menopause or use of birth control pills.

Your stress levels. Stress or anxiety can trigger migraines in some people.

Your senses. Loud sounds, bright lightsincluding flashing lights or sunlightor strong smells can bring on a migraine.

Medicines. Your doctor can tell you if any medicines youre taking put you at risk for migraines.

Keeping a headache diary can help you and your doctor identify your triggers. Write down when you get a migraine and what you were doingor eatingjust before.

Can Drinking Water Help A Headache

Drink water First, get a drink of water as soon as possible. Most dehydration headaches resolve within three hours of drinking. You dont need to overhydrate: A simple glass or two of water should help in most cases. Drinking too quickly sometimes makes dehydrated people vomit, so its best to take slow, steady sips.

New Or Worsening Triggers

People can also have different sensitivities to their environment that could cause migraine symptoms to increase in frequency over time.

There are several common triggers that a person may become more sensitive to or experience more frequently. According to the American Migraine Foundation, some common migraine triggers include:

  • stress
  • changes in the environment, such as exposure to bright light
  • alcohol consumption
  • overusing medications
  • certain smells

Exposure to new potential triggers or changes in habits could cause more frequent and sudden migraine with aura episodes.

It is important for a person to keep a record of their headaches and symptoms to help identify possible new triggers that may be causing the episodes to occur.

It may not always be possible to prevent chronic migraine, but there are some steps a person can take to help reduce their severity or duration.

For example, that most treatment plans should include avoiding known triggers and taking preventive medications as prescribed.

Some other things a person can do to help prevent episodes include:

  • making certain changes to their diet to include more healthful foods and avoid processed foods
  • limiting caffeine and alcohol intake
  • practicing activities and exercises that encourage relaxation, such as deep breathing and yoga
  • maintaining a consistent sleep routine

Do I Need To See A Doctor About Multiple Cold Sores

While multiple sores can typically be managed with standard treatment, there is a point of concern. This problem area is usually reached when sores fail to heal, or noticeable spreading and infection begins to occur. You should also be vigilant if you have cold sore and eczema, for example.

Although you should never panic, it is wise to get things checked out by your physician if you are concerned. Many OTC treatments are FDA approved. If your selection is failing to provide the relief you might need some extra assistance.

Having a consultation with your physician might also help you pinpoint the trigger that is leading to your issue. Identifying this problem will likely put an end to your recurring situation regarding a perpetual blister state.

Your doctor will likely introduce a prescription medication to heal your sores. Unless you have a serious underlying condition, a prescription treatment solution should heal your sores fast.

To recap:

  • It is essential that you consult a physician if your cold sores are failing to heal with treatment.
  • The introduction of infection and viral spreading is another red flag. If you notice your blisters starting to spread and develop a more extensive coverage area that is cause for concern. Your physician can implement a strong prescription treatment.

Rarely, a headache might be a sign of a serious medical condition. You should seek immediate medical attention if you:

  • have a sudden, very severe headache, and its the first time its happened
  • are experiencing any of the signs of stroke including a dropped face on one side droopy mouth or eye cannot lift one or both arms or have slurred or garbled speech

  • or have injured your head from a fall, blow or bump.

Why You Seem To Get Headaches Every Day

A variety of triggers can cause or contribute to everyday headaches, but if you cant figure out what those triggers are, you wont have much luck fixing the issue

Some of the most common triggers include stress, dehydration, poor posture , allergens, caffeine withdrawal, and nutritional deficiencies.

With tension headaches, experts believe that these triggers affect the skin, sinuses, blood vessels, and other structures more sensitive to pain or the muscles stretched across those structures, resulting in pain. In the case of migraines, the mechanisms are a bit more complex, but in the end, your goal is the same: Remove the triggers, and enjoy a headache-free life. One of the most common headache triggers is stress, so well address that first. Grab your comfy pants, because youre going to need them.

Your Bodys Internal Clock Is Off

Ever wake up for a super early flight and notice a nagging pain in your head? Disrupting your body’s schedule can trigger headaches, Dr. Hutchinson says.

Getting up earlier than usual can throw off your circadian rhythm. “Travel, in general, is a trigger,” she adds. The stress of traveling, change in barometric pressure, change in time zones, and just being at an airport can all trigger a headache.

Fix it: While sometimes its just not possible to maintain the exact same sleep-wake schedule , its important to try to keep as close to your typical routine as possible. This way, youll limit the disruption to your body clock, and in turn, keep headaches away, or at least more infrequent.

Also, stress relief practices are especially important in hectic travel settingslike loud, crowded airportsto keep nagging head pain under control.

When To Get Medical Advice

You should see a GP if you have frequent or severe migraine symptoms.

Simple painkillers, such as paracetamol or ibuprofen, can be effective for migraine.

Try not to use the maximum dosage of painkillers on a regular or frequent basis as this could make it harder to treat headaches over time.

You should also make an appointment to see a GP if you have frequent migraines , even if they can be controlled with medicines, as you may benefit from preventative treatment.

You should call 999 for an ambulance immediately if you or someone you’re with experiences:

  • paralysis or weakness in 1 or both arms or 1 side of the face
  • slurred or garbled speech
  • a sudden agonising headache resulting in a severe pain unlike anything experienced before
  • headache along with a high temperature , stiff neck, mental confusion, seizures, double vision and a rash

These symptoms may be a sign of a more serious condition, such as a stroke or meningitis, and should be assessed by a doctor as soon as possible.

Treating Migraine With Aura

When a person begins experiencing aura symptoms, it can be helpful to move into a quiet, dark room and close the eyes. Placing a cold compress on the forehead or the back of the neck may also help ease migraine pain.

There are three main areas of treatment for migraine with aura. These are as follows:

  • lifestyle and trigger management
  • acute treatments, such as medications to stop a migraine episode while it is happening or reduce its severity or duration
  • These include analgesics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, gepants, and ditans.
  • preventive treatments, such as medications designed to prevent migraine episodes from starting and reduce their frequency and severity
  • These include CGRP antagonists, beta-blockers, antidepressants, anticonvulsants, and Botulinum toxin type A.

Is It Normal To Be Hornier Before Ovulation

Many females are horniest at or just before they ovulate, due to changes in the levels of hormones relating to the menstrual cycle. People who are worried about or distressed by their sex drive, whether they feel that it is too high or too low, may find talking to a healthcare professional reassuring and helpful.

Headache Caused By High Blood Pressure

Why am I Having Headaches All the Time?

Extremely high blood pressure can cause a headache in people with or without diagnosed hypertension.

This type of headache only happens when blood pressure is severely elevated to 180/120 millimeters of mercury or higher, according to the American Heart Association. Normal blood pressure is 120/80 mm Hg.

When blood pressure is extremely elevated, its a medical emergency known as a hypertensive crisis, and medical attention is needed right away.

Youre Dealing With Hormonal Issues Like Menstruation

Thanks to the drop in estrogen right before menstruation, many people experience PMS-related headaches. In fact, menstruation is one of the biggest migraine triggers for people who have periods.

But it’s not the only time a change in estrogen levels can cause a headacheboth perimenopause and postpartum periods are marked by a significant drop in estrogen, and as a result, often come with headaches. Pregnancy, too, affects estrogen levels, so you may notice that your headaches worsen during this time, the Mayo Clinic says. “Any time of hormonal change is a vulnerable time for headaches,” Dr. Hutchinson says.

Fix it: If you notice that your headaches appear to be cyclical and coincide with your period, its worth bringing this up with your doctor, who may suggest going on hormonal birth control or switching your current birth control.

As the Mayo Clinic explains, hormonal birth control can have an effect on your headache patterns and for some people, hormonal contraception may make headaches less frequent and intense because they reduce the drop in estrogen that happens during your menstrual cycle.

For short-term headache relief around your period, typical headache remedies can help, like using ice or a cold compress, practicing relaxation techniques, or taking an over-the-counter pain relief medication.

    Overuse Of Pain Medications

When you pop over the counter pills to fight headache pain, your body may become reliant on them. If you stop using them you may experience what’s called a rebound headache. This occurs as your body adjusts to lower levels of pain medication in your system. They will likely go away if you continue avoiding said medication.

So if you started having headaches way more often then once every 3-4 months without any visible reason then it√Ęs not time to take stronger pain killers, but it’s time to think about the source of the headache. These are by no means the only causes of a headache, so if you can’t discern what is causing yours, it’s important to see a doctor so you can figure what is causing your headaches so you can decide on the best course of treatment for them.

Why Are Some Cold Sores Worse Than Others

Some cold sores are worse than others due to your overall physical wellness. Because a compromised immune system makes you more susceptible, any form of deficiency can make a cold sore feel worse.

Even something as seemingly minor as the common cold can dramatically change the intensity of your blisters. This is because your body is fighting two separate battles at the same time. The overall duration of the blister life cycle can be longer than expected and the pain more significant.

Because cold sores are born from a virus, severe outbreaks can introduce a host of symptoms. This can include a headache, fever, fatigue, swollen lymph nodes, etc. While most cold sore outbreaks are more annoying than painful, recurring and severe outbreaks can be entirely different.

The most important task is to heal your body. As long as you are in a compromised physical state, your blisters will not recover in a timely fashion. Although cold sores typically vanish on their own within two weeks, a severe outbreak can last as long as 30 days.

    To recap:

Why Does My Vision And Hearing Change Before Migraine

These changes are called migraine aura. Theyre a collection of sensory symptoms that some people experience just before a migraine. You may see zigzag patterns in your vision, hear strange noises, or feel unusual sensations like tingling in your body.

Aura may stem from changes to brain cells and chemicals. About 20 to 30 percent of people with migraine get aura right before their headache. These symptoms usually subside in about an hour.

    You Have Hypersexuality Disorder

“Some individuals use the terms ‘sex addiction’ and ‘hypersexuality’ interchangeably,” Dr. Magavi says. “Sex addiction and hypersexuality may affect individuals’ functionality and cause relationship concerns.”

Mental health practitioners consider certain factors when treating somebody who is concerned by their own sexual behavior. Melancon says there are a number of reasons somebody’s sex drive can rise that are worth looking into. “Sex can be used as a coping mechanism, much in the way people eat their feelings, binge watch, drink, or use drugs to avoid dealing with their emotions and problems,” she explains. In some cases, trauma can lead to hypersexual behavior Melancon says this is largely a way to deal with ongoing and uncomfortable nervous system reactions in the body.

Some mental health conditions, such as obsessive compulsive disorder may be associated with a change in sex drive and sexual interest.

The Future Of Fighting Spam Calls

But what about the problem of spam calls at large? Paul and other industry techsperts look to technology called STIR/SHAKEN to address that spoof phone number technology, which the FTC is in the process of approving. And, yes, they are acronyms: STIR for Secure Telephone Identity Revisited and SHAKEN for Signature-based Handling of Asserted information using toKENs.

This new technology allows cell phone networks to authenticate calls by validating that the number associated with each phone call is legitimate. You can then know that the caller is a real person using a real phone number.

According to our survey respondents, spam calls are the worst type of call you can get. With new advances in technology, however, the number two most annoying group of callersexes might just take the top spot.
