New Survey Shows Cbd Has Positive Impact On Migraine

For the last couple of years, Axon Relief has been surveying people with migraine before they take Axons specific formula of CBD, and again after 30 days of using the oil.

Using a clinically-validated questionnaire called the Headache Impact Survey , Axon Relief measured the impact of a headache on a persons life. The results are showing an overwhelming majority of headache sufferers could benefit from taking CBD oil.

At the end of the 30-day trial period, 86% of respondents reported decreased headache impact.

The survey is significant, because while there is an abundance of anecdotal accounts of people using CBD oil with good results for migraine, there is very little in the way of standardized results.

One hundred and five people with migraine participated in the 30-day survey.

The CBD oil used in the study is made in Utah by Axon Relief. During the trial period, users of Axons CBD oil experienced an average of 3.8 fewer headache days when compared to before they used the oil, for a 23% reduction.

Our goal is to explore if our CBD isolate can help people who suffer from chronic headaches, like migraine. The data showing CBDs effect on migraine is the first of its kind, and very promising, says Ben Rollins, founder of Axon Relief.

Use Almond Oil With Peppermint Essential Oil For A Massage

Put a few drops of peppermint oil into some almond oil to make your massage oil. One of the benefits is that the almond oil will not become sticky, like most other essential oils. You are also adding plenty of healthy natural ingredients to your skin.

Almond oil is healthy without the essential oil thrown it. It is full of vitamin E, an antioxidant. The vitamin E will repair damage to the cells and help to fight off free radicals that can cause damage throughout the body. You can repair infections and treat inflammation that can make your migraines worse.

The peppermint oil is part decongestant and part relaxation. It works similarly to eucalyptus oil by reducing inflammation to get rid of a buildup of pressure or a blockage. This will help to get rid of the reason for your nerve pain. At the same time, the oil will help to calm your nerves and get rid of tension.

Using the two together through a massage will offer further migraine-relief benefits. You want to target your neck and shoulders for this massage. When you hold tension in your neck and shoulders, you can affect the nerves within your head. Many people who get regular headaches find that they have a lot of neck and shoulder pain or stress.

The 2021 Fish Oil And Migraine Study

The lead research investigator, Christopher E. Ramsden, MD, and a similar research team published the study as the findings from an earlier study on fish oil and migraine looked promising. Dr. Ramsden is an expert of fat metabolism with a special interest on how fatty acids are metabolized and influence chronic pain and neurodegenerative conditions. It seems that natural pain relief is one of his passions.

The study looked at 3 diets designed and provided by the research team for 16 weeks. In one group, the study participants were provided a diet high in omega 3s. This was done by giving them fish naturally high in EPA and DHA .

In another study group, the participants diet had 2 important modifications. Their diet had the same fish naturally high in EPA and DHA but also was reduced in omega-6 fats from corn, soy, safflower and canola oil.

The third group was considered the control group. Their diet consisted of fish that was low in DHA and EPA and an amount of omega-6s that is considered typical for Western diets.

The results

Both groups with boosted fish oil enjoyed more migraine-free days. Those whose diet was manipulated only by increasing the DHA and EPA had an average of 2 fewer migraine days per month than those on the control diet.

What is most interesting is that those who ate the diet higher in omega-3s but lower in omega-6s had an average of 4 fewer migraine days per month.

Salmon, mackerel, tuna, sardines, seabass, herring, anchovies, halibut caviar, oysters and mussels.

Some examples of how to get 1.5 grams or more from seafood in a day would be:

  • A can of albacore tuna for lunch, mussels marinara for dinner.
  • shrimp cocktail for lunch, halibut for dinner along side Caesar salad with anchovies
  • 3 ounces of farmed salmon

Cbd Oil For Migraines & Anxiety

There is no scientific evidence or research on medical marijuana as an effective treatment for migraine and anxietyin large part because it has not been formally studied. However, it may still be a viable topical option for some patients with joint and muscle pain associated with migraines. If you have a lot of neck pain or soreness, it is perfectly reasonable to use CBD. It may even prevent nausea and vomiting, Dr. Silberstein says.

There is proof that Cannabinoid oil can lessen inflammation and pain in inflammatory disease. it should work similarly with migraines. In a review of studies, published in 2017, researchers saw a helpful and effective role for marijuana in treating migraine, however, there are not enough studies on using CBD specifically yet.

Unfortunately, seafood can have some contaminants. One of the more worrisome is mercury. It is a special concern for pregnant women, those who plan on becoming pregnant and children.

In general, smaller fish that are lower in the food chain and live shorter lives are lower in mercury. Certain varieties of bigger, older fish have higher amounts of mercury due to processes called bioaccumulation and biomagnification.

To help you navigate through the many choices of seafood and select good sources of omega-3 fatty acids while limiting the potential of having too much mercury, I put together a handy chart. Primarily, its based on a nice chart from the Seafood Nutrition Partnership that I cross-referenced with charts from the EPA. The serving size of the different seafood is 3- 4 ounce portions, cooked. Please keep in mind that the available data shows fairly wide ranges of both omega-3 content as well as mercury levels due to the varieties of fish and the environment in which they lived.
