The authors quote several studies in which ginger has been shown to be effective in treating migraine. These are mostly anecdotal reports from the 1980s and 1990s.
However, a small 2005 placebo controlled, double blind, randomised controlled trial of GelStat and placebo, concluded that migraine sufferers who took Gelstat had significantly better pain relief at 2 hours than a placebo . Notably, there was also a large placebo response.
Ginger For Headache In The Er
Interestingly, another study was released in 2019 that supported how we were using ginger to boost our NSAID. This double-blind, placebo controlled, randomized clinical trial added ginger or placebo to intravenous ketoprofen administered to migraine patients presenting in the emergency room.
The researchers found that the addition of ginger extract to conventional treatment for acute migraine may improve pain and functional capacity of patients faster and more significantly than conventional therapy alone. More patients were fully satisfied with their treatment after receiving ginger than placebo .
What Were Their Migraines Like In The Past
In general, migraines tend to last 4 to 72 hours. However, for these study participants, there was no record in the publication of how long their previous migraine attacks had lasted.
Migraine attacks do resolve by themselves over time, without any medication. Its hard to be sure how much improvement in migraine symptoms, was directly due to the therapeutic effects of either of the treatments.

Other Benefits Of Turmeric
Turmeric, like ginger, has been extensively studied for its health benefits.
Research has shown that, when combined with agents that improve its bioavailability, it can help manage oxidative and inflammatory conditions, metabolic syndrome, arthritis, anxiety, and high cholesterol.
Other health benefits attributed to turmeric include the reduction of exercise-induced inflammation and muscle soreness.

Apply Ginger Essential Oil To Your Temples
Massaging ginger oil into the skin decreases pain in people with arthritis and back pain, and may also help to reduce pain from headaches.
For a migraine attack or tension headache, try massaging a few drops of the diluted ginger oil into your temples, forehead, and back of the neck once or twice daily.
The aroma from the oil may also reduce nausea that commonly occurs with migraine. Try placing a drop of ginger oil on a tissue, gauze pad, or cotton ball and inhaling. You might also try adding one to two drops of oil into a warm bath or steam diffuser.

Feverfew for migraines has been compared to aspirin and might just be the thing that works to help you reduce, manage or even eliminate your chronic migraine attacks. It has proven to be very effective for lots of migraine sufferers already.
However, my personal experience is that effective natural pain relief for more severe migraines can be much more difficult to find. Impossible even.
So let me ask you

Two Simple Methods for making homemade ginger powder at home using fresh ginger or ginger pulp perfect for adding to recipes, steeping into ginger tea, and more!
Ginger is all the rage in my apartment at the moment, from making homemade ginger chips to homemade ginger juice, and now this homemade ginger powder. This post takes you through two methods of drying and making ginger powder from fresh ginger and the leftover ginger pulp from juicing.
Recently I made a massive batch of Ginger Juice and was left with a big pile of leftover pulp. Now you know how much I try to avoid the unnecessary wasting of any ingredient. So, having already figured out that dehydrating is the key to using leftover nut milk pulp, I thought it would be the perfect answer to what to do with ginger pulp too.
In fact, following on from my Homemade Turmeric Powder post, I decided that Id try two methods for making organic ground ginger. The first method uses leftover ginger pulp, and the other one follows the same process as I used with the turmeric fresh, thinly sliced ginger. Im happy to say that the results have been amazing!
